When I was 10, my grandfather Mac and I used to build models together. While I worked on cars and planes, Grandpa – who was in the Navy, preferred building the USS Constitution. Later, his arthritis prevented him from building. So, as a 19 year old, I recreated the USS Constitution and gave it to him as a gift. It wasn’t until nearly 20 years later that I picked up the hobby again – this time with wood – doing my best to recreate the historic vessels as they were originally built.
